Detok for iPhone privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
This policy explains how the Detok app for iPhone and iPad ("the app") handles your information. It applies only to the app. The repostremover.io website has its own privacy policy.
The short version
- Your reposts stay on your phone. Detok scans your Reposts tab and removes the reposts you choose, all from your device. We never receive your repost list or scan results.
- We never see your TikTok password. You sign in on TikTok's own login page inside the app. Your TikTok session is stored on your device, not on our servers.
- No Detok account. You don't need to give us your name, email or phone number to use the app.
- No tracking and no ads. We don't track you across other apps or websites, we don't show ads, and we don't sell or share your data.
Who we are
The app is made by TODO, a company registered in United Kingdom (company number TODO), registered address TODO. We are the data controller for the limited information described in this policy. Contact us at support@repostremover.io.
Detok is an independent app. Detok is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance.
How the app works with TikTok
To find and remove your reposts, the app needs to act on your TikTok account, the same way you would by hand:
- Signing in. You log in on TikTok's own sign-in page, shown inside the app. Your username and password go directly to TikTok. Detok can't read them.
- Your TikTok session. After you sign in, TikTok gives your device a session (cookies) so you stay logged in. The app keeps this session on your device and uses it only to read your Reposts tab and remove the reposts you choose.
- Scanning. The app reads the list of videos in your Reposts tab to count them and show you a summary: how many there are, the oldest one and the creators you repost most. This list is processed and stored only on your device.
- Removing. When you start a removal, the app sends the remove requests from your device directly to TikTok, at a steady pace, and then checks that each repost is gone.
None of this information is sent to us. TikTok receives these requests because they're actions on your TikTok account, and TikTok's handling of your data is covered by TikTok's privacy policy.
Information stored on your device
The app stores the following on your iPhone or iPad only:
- your TikTok session, so you stay signed in;
- your latest scan results and the reposts you chose to keep;
- your app settings and the progress of a removal, so a long clear-out can pick up where it stopped.
You can delete all of this at any time by signing out of TikTok in the app or by deleting the app.
Information we receive
When you contact us
If you email support@repostremover.io, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and to help you, and we keep the conversation for up to 2 years so we can follow up on the same issue. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Crash reports and app statistics from Apple
If you've turned on Share with App Developers in your iPhone's settings (Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash reports and basic usage statistics with us. Apple provides these without your name, email or TikTok details, and we use them only to find and fix problems. You can turn this off at any time in the same setting.
The app doesn't include any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software.
Purchases
If you buy anything in the app, the payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your card or payment details. Apple tells us only that a purchase is valid so the app can unlock it.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or share your personal information.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, so the app never asks for tracking permission.
- We don't show ads or use your data for advertising.
- We don't access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.
- We don't post, like, follow or message anything on your TikTok account. The app only reads your Reposts tab and removes the reposts you choose.
Your account and TikTok's limits
Removing reposts is something TikTok lets every user do. Detok works at a steady pace and stops if TikTok pauses actions, but TikTok can still limit actions on any account, and we can't control how TikTok treats yours.
Children
The app is for people who are old enough to have a TikTok account under TikTok's rules, and at least 13. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Because the app keeps your TikTok data on your device, most of it can be deleted by you directly, by signing out or deleting the app. For anything we hold, such as support emails, write to support@repostremover.io and we'll respond within one month.
If you're in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you're in the EU, you can contact your local data protection authority.
Our legal bases under UK and EU data protection law are: providing the app you asked for (for anything processed to make the app work), our legitimate interest in fixing problems (crash reports you chose to share) and in answering your messages (support emails).
Security
Your TikTok session and scan results are stored using the protections built into iOS. All connections from the app to TikTok use encrypted HTTPS. Because we don't run servers that hold your TikTok data, there's no Detok copy of it to be exposed.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. For significant changes, we'll also tell you in the app.
